The Project Manager, Data Automation is responsible for all departmental projects in support of key divisional objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex projects, with focus on automating data processes and driving efficiency within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills who can manage multiple stakeholders and deliver project on time and within budget. The Project Manager, Data Automation oversees the design, development, and implementation of data automation solutions to help cleanse the data that feeds transactional and business intelligence systems. This role will lead the organization in how we automate, collect, transform, analyze and report data associated for all products throughout their lifecycle.
Essential Functions
- Oversees day-to-day team operations, sets goals and priorities, conducts performance reviews, and fosters a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Lead professional and technical staff in the development life cycle (requirements definition, project approval, design, development, and implementation) and maintenance of the systems assigned to them.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Lead and manage end-to-end data automation projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Develop project plans and timelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Track project performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develops associates through mentoring, coaching, and challenging assignments.
- Guides the development and use of standards and procedures according to Architecture Review Board best practices, revising standards and procedures as requirements change and technological advancements are incorporated into the >tech structure.
- Communicates and promotes the code of ethics and business conduct.
- Ensures completion of required company compliance training programs.
- Is trained - either through formal education or through experience - in software / hardware technologies and development methodologies.
- Stays current through personal development and professional and industry organizations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of data integration engineers, analysts, data stewards, and developers.
- Defines and executes the data automation strategy and roadmap for the organization.
- Identifies and evaluates the data automation needs and opportunities for different business units and functions.
- Designs and develops data automation solutions using various technologies, such as scripting languages, databases, APIs, and cloud services.
- Ensures the quality, security, and compliance of the data automation solutions and the data sources.
- Monitors and troubleshoots the data automation solutions, resolving any issues or errors.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Provides training and support to the end users of the data automation solutions.
- Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science and information systems.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, ideally focusing on data automation, integration, and analysis.
- Expertise managing projects involving data platforms, integrations, or software product development.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on time.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, APIs (REST/SOAP), message brokers (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub), and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of data automation technologies, such as cloud data pipelines, ETL/ELT, etc.
- Understanding of Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), such as Boomi, MuleSoft, etc.
- Proficiency with data modeling tools.
- Knowledge of BI visualization tools such as Microstrategy, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Clarizen, etc.).
- Strong knowledge and skills in data management, data quality, data governance, and data security.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
