Position Summary Perform all aspects of data architecture including evaluating the data available and design of blueprints for creating, testing and maintaining data and information architecture; in-depth analysis, data modeling, quality management, software development, refactoring, data migrations, code reviews, unit and integration testing, deployment activities, and post-deployment support; implement designs with long-term objectives in mind; provide business analysis on current work flows and data requirements and develop appropriate dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence applications and platforms; follow policies and standards for data and information architecture, data modeling, conceptual database design, as well as data naming and meta data documentation standards; work with database administrators and data analysts to ensure they can easily use and access data; determine user needs and create solutions so that they can access data; perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional RequirementsEducation and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information science or computer science;
and Four (4) years of data architect or computer programming experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge - Principles and uses of Oracle and MS SQL
- Scripting Language
- Principles and practices of project management, including business analysis and project implementation
- Methods and techniques of applications development and common development languages
- Principles and practices of software installation
- Methods and techniques of data modeling and conceptual data and information architecture solutions design

- Advanced data storage techniques (e.g. Cloud Services - Azure, AWS)
- Methods and techniques related to data governance, including standardized data vocabularies and related capabilities (business glossaries, data dictionaries, etc.)
Preferred Skills & Abilities - Develop and modify data solution models based on City needs
- Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a data solutions
- Effectively gather and analyze information, problem solve, and make decisions (can gather and analyze data and information and draw conclusions)
- Design and build BI dashboard using appropriate BI Enterprise software
- Develop and maintain data and entity relationship models
- Evaluate, implement, maintain and train others in the use of data modeling tools
- Participate in systems analysis, design and implementation
- Assume major project management responsibilities assigned
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Communicate clearly and concisely
