Nature and Scope
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building, and managing data processing pipelines, as well as implementing robust data management architectures. This role requires advanced SQL skills, proficiency with multiple data platforms, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. The Data Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring data compliance and governance, and driving automation through effective metadata management.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development: Design, build, and manage data processing pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, integrating with multiple data sources.
- Data Architecture: Implement and maintain Data Management architectures such as Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Hub, along with supporting processes like Data Integration, Governance, and Metadata Management.
- SQL Proficiency: Utilize advanced SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and transformation. Work proficiently with SSMS, Oracle, and DB2.
- Metadata Management: Drive automation and improve data workflows through effective metadata management.
- Business Requirements: Translate data needs into detailed functional and technical designs for development, testing, and implementation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment to deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance and governance during data use, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Data Handling: Efficiently manage and process large, heterogeneous datasets.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to understand and translate their requirements into technical solutions.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve data-related issues, conducting thorough research and applying innovative solutions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with various Data Management architectures such as Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Hub, and supporting processes like Data Integration, Governance, and Metadata Management.
- Proficiency with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in popular database programming languages such as SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with advanced analytics tools and object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as R, Python, Java, and C .
- Experience in API design, development, and implementation.
- Familiarity with software/tools such as DataProc, DataFlow, Cloud Composer, Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Kafka, and PubSub is preferred.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or proven work experience in related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in similar role, with a focus on GCP services
- Has good judgment, a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity
