Data Architect to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have
15+ years of overall experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data solutions to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems. This role requires a strong background in cloud technologies, database management, and data integration strategies.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures to support business needs.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models and ensure data consistency across systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to define data requirements and solutions.
- Establish data governance frameworks, data quality processes, and security measures.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to design and optimize data storage and processing.
- Ensure data integration across multiple sources, including on-premise and cloud-based systems.
- Optimize database performance, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and engineers.
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills: - 15+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data management.
- Strong expertise in relational (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache NiFi.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data lakes, and big data solutions.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, including data cataloging, lineage, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and privacy regulations.
- Expertise in scripting languages like Python, SQL, and Scala.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.
- Experience working in industries like oil & gas, healthcare, or finance is a plus.
