Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Architect for a contract running until December 2025, remote first, based in Edinburgh.
Purpose of the role:
The Data Architect will help support on the D365 Programme by reviewing how data is organised and flows through our client's system.
The Data Architect will ensure the design follows best practices and meets business standards, improving understanding of current data structures and help creating better designs in the future. The goal is to build clear, consistent customer data that supports better reporting and insights from D365 and other data sources.
As a Data Architect you will be responsible for:
- Analysing and designing data architecture to support the D365 Programme, ensuring efficient data flows and integration.
- Reviewing and optimising database structures, customer hierarchies, and data models.
- Ensuring compliance with BCDM (Business-Centric Data Management) standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable architecture solutions.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for data architecture, models, and flows.
- Supporting the creation of robust design patterns for future data initiatives.
- Enabling accurate and simplified reporting by aligning customer structures with C&I (Commercial & Industrial) standards.
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency across D365 and other client data sources.
What is required from the Data Architect:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar data-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, database design, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and related data platforms.
- Familiarity with BCDM standards and enterprise data governance practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and data visualisation/reporting tools.
