The Central Fraud and Abuse Risk (CFAR) team is seeking a Data Analytics professional who will help us protect our customers and our company by eradicating fraud and service abuse across the Microsoft ecosystem. Our goal is to minimize financial and reputational harm by preventing, detecting, and addressing fraud.

As a CFAR Data Analytics professional, your role involves understanding the business needs of internal stakeholders and integrating that knowledge with a deep understanding of the data landscape. You'll focus on understanding and harnessing diverse data sources, conducting thorough analyses, and deriving actionable and visually intuitive insights that drive our mission forward through leveraging the power of generative AI and the action-orientation of agentic AI.

Responsibilities
  • Identifyappropriate analytical techniques, conduct analyses, and provide actionable recommendations to address business questions at scale, using the latest available tools
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency in data sources, methods, models, tools, and business priorities, to build reusable and sharable improvement techniques
  • Develop experiments and prototypesusing a deep understanding business process and underlying data structures to drive meaningful recommendations for actions to CFAR's fraud reduction remit
  • Translate the work ofour data scientists' custom machine learning models and generative AI into intuitive, context-sensitive insights for internal stakeholderdecision-making
  • Analyze and implementnew AI tools and algorithms to help simplify fraud pattern recognition and human understandingtoenable CFAR solutions thatbetteraddress fraud
  • Stay current on Microsoft data privacy and security standards as well as regulatoryand ethicalrequirementsto ensure proper data handling and compliant analytic solutions
Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field.
  • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS.
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
  • Experience using generative AI tools, configuring AI agents and presenting findings.
Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $83,400 - $167,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $108,900 - $183,000 per year.
