Job Summary Responsible to perform data analytics for assigned accounts and complete special project deliverables in the Property & Casualty Business Unit; conducts analyses to identify trends on current client's liabilities and prepares projections of future outcomes.
A Day in the Life - Accesses the data of existing clients to conduct a financial analysis of relevant information to aid in the evaluation of plan performance, both current and projected experience; includes account specific reports for allocations, trending and developing claims, and the analysis of results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Accesses the data of prospective clients to conduct a financial and demographic, current-state analysis to promote client awareness with the objective of securing new business; includes the analysis of alternative retentions, loss stratification and loss development patterns.
- Maintains the security of client information obtained from loss data.
- Collaborates with the internal senior staff member to review client-specific data analytics; work to closely identify and develop risk transfer solutions to minimize risk and maximize cost effectiveness.
- Analyzes data to identify plan utilization, financial trends and comparative industry benchmarks; outcomes provide the basis for: preparing financial projections, utilizing benchmarking resources and tools, developing loss projections and making recommendations for plan design modification, which includes alternative risk structures, deductible and retention levels, and captives.
- Provides internal teams with accurate deliverables in a timely fashion to meet client expectations; maintains a concise and consistent level of communications within the team. Works with Client Managers to develop best in class market submissions leveraging analytical client data. RM
- Accesses carrier websites to generate and download reports, translates information into our internal client report template, and submits the information to the team member, including an overview of critical observations.
- Assists in the onboarding of new clients, which includes collaborating with internal staff to understand client needs, scheduling required events and reporting activities, and working with carriers to obtain information access for client-specific data analysis; includes presentation and training with prospects and clients.
- Proficient in the use of Oswald Companies software data analytics systems, software and tools to maximize personal effectiveness.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with our major carriers and primary data warehouse vendor; develops and manages the account organization structure for each client added to the data warehouse, including the execution of timely uploads, the management of exception handling, and the development of operational efficiencies.
- Collaborates with other Data Analytics team members to share knowledge and contribute to the design and utilization of client deliverables; remains current on compliance regulations and incorporates that knowledge into existing data analytics tools; builds team synergy for department effectiveness.
- Prioritizes and manages workload effectively, thinks through issues and determines alternative solutions to meet deadlines and improve personal productivity.
What You'll Need - Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Computer Information Systems, or Statistics from a four-year college or university OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience gathering, manipulating, and analyzing data.
- Experience working in a commercial Property & Casualty environment.
- Proven analytical and research experience.
