Data Analyst/Programmer Job Description

Job Title: Data Analyst/Programmer

On Site Only Position/Non Remote

Department: Data Processing

Reports To: Vice President

Summary

This position involves converting and processing data files for customer mailing and fulfillment projects; this includes processing and merging data files according to detailed and specific requirements provided by our clients and our internal Account Managers. It also includes evaluating the project requirements and determining the best possible path to follow. Quality is a priority and should meet or exceed customer requirements. Opportunities for special projects may also be presented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Data Integration such as: standardizing data, data manipulation, merge/purge processing, postal sortation, creating various output files/formats
  • Problem solving in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to communicate complex processes in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Experience with SQL Server helpful
  • Become familiar with client expectations for each project
  • Have a strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Office 365 skills
  • Follow appropriate procedures to prepare materials for client approval and to create production-ready files
  • Interact with Account Managers and at times have direct client interaction in order to understand data processing requirements
  • Interact with other departments to coordinate the release of jobs into production
  • Participate in teams working on projects to further company efficiency and effectiveness

  • 2 - 5 years relevant industry experience helpful
  • 2 - 5 years Data Integration or similar experience required
  • Red Point Data Management Software a bonus
  • Natural problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, being a self-starter, and very organized
  • Good team player with a positive attitude

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Associates or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; prefer one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This job is on site/in office only. Remote work is not offered.
