Position Summary
Continuous analysis of healthcare data from many sources, such as patient care, and demographic information, is the responsibility of this role. It entails creating and preparing materials for both internal and external clients. The capacity to evaluate healthcare data from conception to presentation is necessary. It calls for good communication abilities, presentation software use, data analysis approach understanding, and analytical tool competency. Working with several intricate databases, maintaining data integrity and correctness, and actively seeking out new areas for improvement are all part of this job. This position's main goal is to offer experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Core Duties
• In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
• System administrator for Press Ganey Fusion and HRP
• Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
• In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
• Perform data entry, either manually or using scanning technology, when needed or required
• Oversees and addresses open cases within Shores data base ensuring they are managed appropriate, specific duties are not limited.
• Capitalize on in-house software (i.e., Press Ganey Fusion, HRP, Cerner) reporting functionality and resources
• Maintains current database Press Ganey and HRP healthcare assistants by becoming efficient in the use of the database program
• Responsible for the mailing and tracking of applications
• Demonstrates knowledge of TJC and State of New Jersey regulation for safety Data Base and CMS
Qualifications
• Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-2 years data analyst experience
• Ability to establish working relationships with members in all areas of the health system
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and display data
• Strong attention to detail
• Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point, industry related core measure software systems and electronic medical record applications
• Knowledge of statistics, at least to the degree necessary in order to communicate the results of quality measures
• Experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
• Knowledgeable regarding performance improvement tools and techniques and understands the use of internal/external databases for benchmarking, obtaining evidence-based information and comparing performance
