SUMMARY: A Data Analyst, or Data Business Analyst, is responsible for using their knowledge of data processing software and business development strategies to provide sound business decisions to company Executives. Their duties include collaborating with other data professionals to extract data figures, creating reports based on their findings, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives' success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Extract, analyze, and interpret data from Symitar (Episys) and other business systems to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, SQL reports, and data visualizations to provide clear insights to business stakeholders.
- Work with business units to understand reporting needs, create ad-hoc reports, and automate manual data processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting and analytical functions.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to improve data collection, integration, and governance processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies or reporting issues within Symitar or any other organizational data source or reporting system.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a data dictionary to ensure standardized reporting terminology and definitions.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue generation, and process improvements using data analytics.
- Work with large data sets to compile accurate and timely reports.
- Provide end-user training and support for BI tools and reporting solutions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Must be able to meet or exceed department productivity metric standards or other metrics established and disclosed as new department productivity metrics. Employee must maintain a professional attitude and appearance, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and service providers. Execute the timely completion of assigned duties and utilize interpersonal skills effectively in a team environment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - Experience with Symitar (Episys) - knowledge of PowerOn, RepGen, and Symitar database structure preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience working with large datasets and automating data processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with banking or credit union operations is a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or a similar role with a focus on financial services.
- Hands-on experience with Symitar (Episys) and PowerOn programming is strongly preferred.
