What you will be doing: As the
Data Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine , Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division, Operational Support Team (FESO). As the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for supporting embedded medical providers with real-time data analytics and dashboard of musculoskeletal and mental health risk down to the squadron level. Applying knowledge of science/technology to analyze and resolve multifaceted issues/problems with minimal guidance, and collaborate with
technical area stakeholders to develop strategies for effective execution within a
particular technology area. Assist in designing, formulating, conducting, and leading data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other
relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the
USAF total force population. Will use judgement and originality in developing innovative approaches to define and resolve highly complex situations. Aid in management of the retrieval and integration of health information data, personnel records, deployment-related records, health surveillance registries, unit climate assessments and other military-related data into useable format for end-users. Draft, prepare, present reports/documents, studies or investigations through briefings, technical reports, and publication into scientific journals. and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the research and data analysis.
You Must Have: - Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a security background check.
- Holds MPH, MS, or PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or other similar degree.
- Advanced analytical skills to include: Visual Analytics In Population Health and Health Data Surveillance.
- Ability to design, formulate, conduct, and lead data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the USAF total force population.
- Proficient in the following software programs: Microsoft Office, SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Current in Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) training.
- Current in Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
- Possess the capacity to learn new analytical technology tools such as Tableau, Python, R, SAS Viya, Power BI or Qualtrics.
- Experience within a health analytics related field and working with USAF related data is desired.
