Cydecor is seeking a mid-level Data Analyst to join our Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise - Business Intelligence (NRRE-BI) project team in Norfolk, VA. This critical role involves utilizing data analysis tools and agile methodologies to deliver data-driven insights and decision-support products to our government customer. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts to define and execute high-priority tasks aligned with customer requirements. The primary work location is on the customer site at Naval Support Activity, Hampton Roads, though some hybrid work may be authorized periodically. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Develop data analytics products to support decision-making. Communicate complex analyses and data requirements effectively in both written and verbal formats. Partner with stakeholders to refine software requirements and ensure alignment with customer objectives. Analyze and process internal and external data, applying statistical methodologies to drive insights. Use tools such as Python, R, and SQL for data analysis and modeling. Develop visual analytics products to support customer requirements using Qlik, Power BI, or IBM Cognos. Collaborate with data engineers and leverage platforms like Databricks to support the development and optimization of data pipelines and workflows. Commit to learning and applying Navy readiness production business domain knowledge. Here's what you need: At least 8 years of experience in systems modeling and data analysis Prior experience analyzing and modeling data related to military force readiness. Proficiency Structured Query Language (SQL) 4+ years producing analysis and visual products using any combonation of the following: Python, R, Power BI, IBM Cognos and/or Qlik. Natural curiosity to explore data and uncover patterns, anomalies and insights. Precision in handling data to ensure accuracy and reliability. Openness to learning and mastering new tools, techniques, or methodologies. Inclination to ask questions and investigate unexpected results. Adept in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Penchant for using data to tell stories that convey insights and recommendations effectively. Focus on practical solutions that align with business goals and the capacity to apply creative approaches, when appropriate. Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, analysts, and stakeholders. Ability to incorporate feedback and align with organizational objectives. Resilience in the face of rapidly changing project requirements, data challenges or competing deadlines. Skepticism towards assumptions regarding data quality; willing to challenge results and verify conclusions thoroughly. Bachelor of Science in a technical field such as computer science, information systems management, mathematics, physics, operations research, statistics, engineering or related discipline. Bonus points if you have: Data Science certification such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Azure Data Science Associate, or similar. Knowledge of DoD readiness domain. Experience using the Navy Jupiter platform and tools for data analysis. Master's/advanced degree. Security Clearance: DoD SECRET Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, information systems management, mathematics, physics, operations research, statistics, engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Master's degree is desired.
