About the role
The Department of Planning, Performance and Strategic Change (PPSC) brings together expertise, processes and support across analytics and insight, strategy development and implementation, annual and strategic planning and delivery of strategic projects.
At the heart of our team is a group of dedicated individuals who thrive on celebrating achievements and learning from every challenge. We foster a supportive and mentoring culture, believing that our greatest strength lies in our dedication to personal and professional growth for everyone.
Based in the Analytics & Insight department, this a new role which is focussed on the development and embedding of our new Data & Insight Service (D&I Service). You will have an opportunity to use your experience and expertise to help shape this service, which will bring people from across the University to join forces to establish new processes, systems and tools to ensure that the right, quality data, information and insights are in the hands of those that need it, when they need it. As such, this role is critical in enabling effective decision making across the senior management and measuring of progress, to ensure that our actions have the intended impact.
The role consists of two main parts:
- Development and running of the Data & Insight Service (D&I Service), including the development of new processes and mechanisms.
- Supporting the senior management team with decision making and monitoring of progress through the D&I Service.
This role will enable you to apply and hone your analytical, management and influencing skills, whilst exploring and challenging the status quo within the team and across the organisation.
As the D&I Service develops, your role will focus on working with colleagues in Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team and others across the University to define and develop the key processes, tools and systems required for the effective function.
By working at the University, you'll have the chance to be part of supportive peer networks, pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Additionally, you can enjoy our stunning campus and sports facilities and immerse yourself in a community passionate about learning and innovation.
About you
You will be highly motivated, adaptable, proactive, and naturally curious. Ideally, you also will have a keen interest in what the University community delivers and be ready to contribute to making a positive change.
If you are a highly skilled analyst or service manager, comfortable with setting up new functions within a complex environment, we would love to hear from you.
As a welcoming team, we enjoy connecting through regular social activities. We have monthly after-work socials, engaging team days throughout the year and a festive meal in December.
