Job Description
Morning:
Start the Day: Begin by reviewing and prioritizing tickets that have come in overnight.
Phishing Alerts: Field phishing alerts and investigate email reports. Some investigations are quick, while others require more in-depth analysis.
Incident Inspection: Inspect incidents using Microsoft Defender and Umbrella, ensuring any threats are promptly addressed.
Midday:
Network Management: Manage and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Server Administration: Administer Active Directory and perform server hardening tasks to enhance security.
Documentation: Help put together documentation for audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with standards.
Afternoon:
Policy and Procedure Development: Since there are no existing policies or procedures, work on writing and rolling out new ones. This involves reading, writing, and implementing policies and procedures.
SOC Setup: Assist in the setup and operation of the on-site Security Operations Center (SOC), contributing to its establishment and functionality.
Throughout the Day:
Ticket Management: Continuously work through tickets as they come in, addressing issues and providing solutions.
Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues and support ongoing projects.
