Position Overview:
Special Aerospace Security Services, Inc. (SASSI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cybersecurity Modeler to support a critical digital transformation and cybersecurity architecture effort. This hybrid position, based in Arlington, VA, supports modeling, analysis, and security engineering for next-generation system architectures, including those supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) and classified mission sets.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience with systems modeling tools and cybersecurity frameworks and will be comfortable interfacing with technical teams and senior stakeholders. This position requires an understanding of cybersecurity controls, architecture modeling using SysML and Cameo, and the ability to clearly present technical concepts to decision-makers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cybersecurity Architecture & Control Identification
• Identify and implement cybersecurity controls within system architecture designs.
• Provide cybersecurity requirements tailored to specific capabilities and mission needs.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Leverage hands-on experience with Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), and Zero Trust security models. 2. Digital Architecture Development
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of virtualization technologies and how they apply to digital architectures.
• Apply cybersecurity requirements specific to Special Access Programs (SAPs) within architecture models.
• Build digital models using Cameo and/or leveraging SysML experience to capture architectural design. 3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
• Provide concise and effective briefings to client senior leadership.
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deliver technical presentations on team deliverables to external stakeholders.
• Adhere to and enforce strict guidance related to the releasability of information. Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience
OR
Master's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience in computer science, digital architecture, or systems modeling Preferred Qualifications:
• Operational experience supporting live cybersecurity missions, particularly in Special Access Programs (SAP) or similarly classified environments
• Experience with Cameo, SysML, or similar tools for developing architectural models
• Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including DCO, ICAM, Zero Trust, and UAF
• Active Security+ certification
• OCSMP (Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional) certification
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, architectural documentation standards, and SAP security compliance Additional Information:
• This position is hybrid, with partial on-site support required in Arlington, VA, based on project and customer needs.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a DoD security clearance, if not already cleared.
