A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of DEC's information security program. This is not an entry-level role and requires both comprehensive networking and cybersecurity knowledge and experience. This role also requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the knowledge and experience needed to manage and triage security events and incidents. This role will report to the Manager of Information Security and will work closely with the Technology Department and leadership to help support DEC to maintain all security objectives. This is not a remote role and requires commuting to our HQ in Greenwood, DE.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER - Required: Completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security / Assurance, or a comparable degree from an accredited educational institution. Education requirement may be satisfied with on-the-job (OJT) and industry experience (8+ years)
- Required: At least 3-5 years of relevant information security and networking experience
- Required: Experience leading security event handling, including remediation, documentation, and communication.
- Required: High level technical knowledge of network security, operating systems, application security, hardening activities, and security defense in depth strategies.
- Preferred: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA Security+, CEH, GISF, GSEC, SSCP or a comparable certification is preferred.
