Overview: SimVentions, consistently voted one of the best workplaces, is seeking a talented Cybersecurity Engineer III to enhance our cybersecurity operations. As a key member, you will conduct system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with DoD standards. The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of cybersecurity and hands-on experience in both Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks. Collaborating with our Blue Team, Red Team, and other cybersecurity experts, you will contribute significantly to our cyber readiness and system accreditation efforts.

Note: Position contingent upon award of contract, anticipated in December 2025.

Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must be eligible for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required for clearance.

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certification:
    • CASP+ CE
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP (Associate)
    • CISSP
    • GCED
    • GCIH
    • CCSP
Responsibilities:
  • Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for various systems.
  • Develop and maintain critical security documentation, including:
    • Authorization Boundary Diagram
    • System Hardware/Software/Information Flow
    • System Security Plan
    • Privacy Impact Assessment
    • Implementation Plan
    • Continuous Monitoring Plan
    • Ports, Protocols and Services Registration
    • Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Conduct annual FISMA assessments and perform continuous system monitoring.
  • Generate and update test plans; test system components using ACAS, implement STIG, and conduct IAVM reviews.
  • Perform automated ACAS scanning, STIG, and SCAP checks on diverse systems.
  • Analyze cybersecurity test scan results and document findings in the POA&M.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in computer security and DoD policies.
  • Experience with NCRC TSCE Program requirements, ship install requirements and protocols.
  • Proficient in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cyber defense techniques.
  • Expertise in implementing STIG, conducting vulnerability assessments with ACAS, and remediating findings on Linux and Windows.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Compensation: Salary range is $90,000 - $140,000 (USD), reflecting your experience, certifications, and other relevant factors.
