We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Defense Engineer to enhance our Blue Team operations. Collaborate with talented Red Team and Cybersecurity professionals to elevate our defense strategies and support system accreditation efforts.
This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, anticipated in December 2025.
Clearance Required: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5/Special-Sensitive Position) is mandatory. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform system hardening on multiple Operating System (OS) platforms.
- Monitor and assess the security posture of systems and networks following DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Apply the MITRE ATT&CK and/or MITRE D3FEND frameworks to enhance threat detection and response.
- Conduct advanced threat intelligence analysis and identify emerging threats; provide actionable recommendations.
- Execute vulnerability assessments utilizing the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and other security tools.
- Analyze vulnerability data and formulate effective remediation strategies.
- Implement vendor patches and configuration changes across both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Design, implement, and enforce robust security controls across network, hardware, and software components.
Qualifications: - A minimum of ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in:
- System hardening across various OS platforms
- Networking and virtualization
- Application of DoD cybersecurity policies and tools
- MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND frameworks
- Threat intelligence assessments
- Performing assessments with ACAS
- Remediating vulnerabilities on Linux and Windows systems
- Designing and enforcing security controls across diverse components
- Possess one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (Associate)
- CISSP
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
Educational Background: - Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
