Cybersecurity Consultant III / Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Experience Level: 7-9 years Job Description: As a Cybersecurity Consultant III serving as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO),
you will be responsible for maintaining the operational security posture of information systems.
Your role involves close collaboration with Information System Owners (ISOs), Information
System Security Managers (ISSMs), and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with
organizational security policies and standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols for information systems Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies Monitor system security configurations and ensure compliance with established security baselines Coordinate with system administrators and other IT staff to manage and remediate security incidents Prepare and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Risk Assessment Reports Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to proactively safeguard information assets Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field 7-9 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a role equivalent to an ISSO Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and FISMA , Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security audits Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable
