Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Cybersecurity Analyst- Microsoft Sentinel and Defender to work on a six-month contract-to-hire position in Cary, NC. This Hybrid position works onsite in Cary 3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday) and remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Pay Rate: $48 to $54/hour w-2; Perm conversion salary: $85,000 - $96,000/year + 10% bonus, and 5K stock award bonus.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:

• Serve as a specialist on Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Office, and other security technologies, guiding to enhance defensive capabilities.

• Utilize Microsoft Sentinel to conduct in-depth analyses of security events and alerts escalated from lower-tier analysts, identifying threats and assessing their impacts.

• Track and analyze key performance indicators and security metrics to measure SOC operations' effectiveness and identify improvement areas.

• Develop and implement runbooks, event response plans, and procedures for containment, eradication, and recovery strategies to minimize the impact of security incidents.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to investigate security incidents, gather evidence, and support legal and regulatory compliance requirements.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of cybersecurity experience, focusing on incident response and security operations within a SOC environment.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and analyze complex security incidents and recommend remediation actions.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present technical details concisely for various audiences.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
