The security analyst is responsible for safeguarding the company's network, as well as its proprietary and sensitive information. This role involves identifying and addressing vulnerabilities within the security system, establishing protocols for IT staff to adhere to, and enhancing the overall security infrastructure. Additionally, the security analyst will review logs, events, reports, and security assessments to identify threats and potential risks.
This role is for one of our client's with locations in Baton Rouge, LA and Birmingham, AL. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of either office for a hybrid arrangement.
Requirements - Leading initiatives to mitigate security breaches while proactively anticipating and minimizing the potential for future security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
- Defining, planning, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing security measures, policies, and controls.
- Composing reports and offering insights regarding the effectiveness of existing security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information.
- Assisting in the development of updates and training programs aimed at securing the network and educating employees.
- Comprehensive understanding of all implemented security systems, including but not limited to intrusion prevention, endpoint security, SIEM, MDM, MFA, NAC, and forensic tools.
- Identifying, categorizing, and managing company data; drafting and updating the data classification policy, and collaborating with IT to enforce data retention policies.
- Ensuring that the security systems are kept current.
- Monitoring security access and maintaining the associated data.
- Performing vulnerability assessments and risk analyses to evaluate security and conducting both internal and external security audits.
- Analyzing security breaches to determine their cause and updating incident response and disaster recovery plans accordingly.
- Verifying and coordinating security strategies with external vendors to satisfy security requirements.
- Developing procedures for IT personnel and instructing them in security awareness.
- Advanced training certifications would be beneficial.
- The ability to function effectively within a high-stress environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and teaching abilities.
