Job Summary:

Client is actively seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant with expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to provide technical support and advisory across multiple acquisition phases. The ideal candidate will play a key role in risk assessments, integration planning, Day 1 readiness, and long-term cybersecurity architecture design. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to the creation of a standardized Cybersecurity M&A Playbook to ensure consistent and secure integration practices across all transactions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments for current and upcoming acquisition targets.
  • Perform architecture reviews to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Develop integration plans that ensure scalability, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Support Day 1 planning and readiness, ensuring proper cybersecurity governance is established.
  • Design and recommend end-state security architecture and roadmaps for post-acquisition environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology to define secure operating models and governance structures.
  • Provide ongoing advisory support during post-acquisition phases to address emerging risks and ensure integration success.
  • Lead the development of a standardized Cybersecurity M&A Playbook, including processes, best practices, and reusable templates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 2 years in M&A or enterprise integration environments
  • Strong understanding of security architecture, risk management, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Hands-on experience conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and technical due diligence
  • Familiarity with Day 1 planning, IT integration, and post-merger security alignment
  • Ability to design and articulate end-state security architectures and operating models
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing or contributing to cybersecurity playbooks or frameworks
Preferred Skills:
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SABSA
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC2)
  • Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills

Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Certified Information Security Manager , Certified Information Systems Security Professional
