The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the Leidos National Security Sector is on the lookout for a proficient Cyber Security Operations Engineer to contribute to a vital cyber security program, playing a crucial role in supporting critical government systems. You will be involved in the development, integration, delivery, and maintenance of IT-managed security services, focused on enhancing cybersecurity threat monitoring and security posture awareness for the enterprise. This position is in anticipation of a future contract award.
Your responsibilities will include: - Ensuring the functionality, security, and quality of cybersecurity systems within a Department of Defense (DoD) or enterprise environment.
- Designing, executing, and maintaining thorough testing strategies to validate system performance and compliance.
- Collaborating with cybersecurity, development, and program management teams to meet mission-critical objectives while upholding stringent quality standards.
- Developing and documenting comprehensive test plans and scripts for validating cybersecurity system functionality and performance.
- Establishing test objectives, criteria, and schedules in line with project demands and timelines.
- Validating system configurations and updates to ensure alignment with cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Identifying and tracking defects encountered during testing, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Working with development teams to validate fixes and enhancements.
- Establishing and maintaining quality assurance processes and standards for the cybersecurity program.
- Reviewing system documentation, code, and configurations to ensure compliance with security and quality standards.
- Preparing test reports that encompass findings and metrics for stakeholder communication.
- Maintaining thorough documentation of test activities to support audits and accreditation efforts.
- Collaborating across teams, including cybersecurity, development, and program management, to assist in system delivery.
- Providing insightful recommendations to enhance the quality, security, and performance of systems and solutions.
What you need to succeed: - Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor's degree with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
Preferred qualifications include: - Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as DevSecOps.
- Experience with testing and QA tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Postman, Nessus, Metasploit).
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, PowerShell) for automation and secure coding practices.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential.
- Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps methodologies is an advantage.

Compensation Range: Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
