Cyber Security Engineer KBR is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Program Management Warfare (PMW) 200 Joint Technical Data Integration (JTDI) program. JTDI is a U.S. Navy program of Joint interest. This role will support the U.S. Army element of the program. JTDI's Army team focuses on supporting technical and other data transport to and from ground and aviation forces as well as cutting-edge Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts to advance cybersecurity practices and solutions for the U.S. Army's advanced systems. This role involves full-spectrum cybersecurity research, analysis, and engineering for various air and ground platforms, including the Black Hawk, Apache, Chinook, Stryker, and Bradley, among others. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with Army, Navy, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations while developing and analyzing cybersecurity solutions for complex systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct full-spectrum cybersecurity research and software data analysis for the Program Management Warfare 200 Joint Technical Data Integration (JTDI) program, supporting systems such as the Black Hawk, Apache, Chinook, Stryker, Bradley, and more.
Lead the design, development, and analysis of cybersecurity products, ensuring compliance with required security approaches, certified material solutions, and approved development processes.
Perform cybersecurity engineering analyses and functional testing to validate the suitability and sustainability of implemented security solutions.
Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) tasks, evaluate cybersecurity impacts on operational platforms, and support cyber test planning and risk assessments.
Create and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including Security Assessment Plans (SAPs), cyber test plans, eMASS authorization packages, and cybersecurity strategies for systems.
Conduct cyber test exercises, assess results, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation through Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), ensuring continuous updates throughout the system lifecycle. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SSBI (Single Scope Background Investigation) completed in the last 6 years is preferred. Active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility is acceptable. Certifications: CompTIA Security + Education & Experience: BS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related technical field, and 5+ years of relevant experience OR AS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related technical field and 9+ years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 12+ years of relevant experience
Additional certifications, advanced education, etc, accepted in lieu of degree.
Technical Skills: Deep familiarity and experience with cybersecurity concepts, tools, and frameworks, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and eMASS. Experience with ethical hacking, penetration testing, and intrusion. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting the JTDI program with PMW 200
Experience supporting the U.S. Navy's cybersecurity architecture
Experience supporting the U.S. Army
Experience with numerous CS technologies and policy organization
Background in specific cyber technology such as Cross Domain Solutions, Multiple Levels of Security (MLS), End Point Security Services (ESS), Identity Management Solutions, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Mobile Device Management, Wireless Security Solutions, COMSEC, Cryptography, or other emerging cyber technology solutions areas
Hands-on experience with system design, cyber test exercises, and vulnerability management.
Familiarity with NAVAIR's CS Safety (CYBERSAFE) framework and related documentation.
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) Flexible hybrid remote workplace setting. Must reside within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week. Compensation: $120,000-$156,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and consideration of internal parity. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to employees in certain job titles or levels, as per internal policy or contractual designation.
