Title: Cyber Security Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 12 Months
Responsibilities
- Review and validate detected cyber security incidents and risks.
- Determine the operational impacts of cyber security control failures.
- Develop, track, and present cyber security statistics and metrics for assigned area.
- Respond to security breaches and incidents, by supporting less tenured cyber security personnel.
- Communicate business impacts and recommend remediation steps to decision makers.
- Develop and approve changes to cyber security procedures and systems.
- Apply information and knowledge about the latest cyber security trends and threats to prevent the realization of risk to the business enterprise.
- Provide input to enterprise resiliency, disaster recovery and business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent combination of experience in related field. Skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are highly desirable.
- Experience as a cyber security engineer or system administrator is desired.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection software and business systems (i.e. M365/Google).
- Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, and ISO).
- Familiarity with software development practices and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for task automation.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) as a tool administrator or engineer strongly desired.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with cross-functional groups.
