NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a prominent organization in Tulsa, OK, to find a Cyber Security Engineer II. This role is vital to safeguarding computer systems, networks, and information from unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. The Cyber Security Engineer II will lead the design, implementation, and support of robust cybersecurity solutions while focusing on process improvement and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technology solutions implementation, providing high-quality designs in both waterfall and agile projects.
  • Automate provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring processes to minimize operational impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate requirements, develop designs, and implement cybersecurity solutions aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cybersecurity issues, offering guidance to the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) and serving as an escalation point.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity standards and contribute to the development of system hardening guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security or related technology field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity technology design and administration within large, complex environments, particularly multi-region retail.
  • Strong understanding of cryptography, network defense, endpoint protection, forensics, data protection, and incident response.
  • Experience with compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI, and SOX.
  • Proficient with next-gen firewalls, IDS/IPS, network access control, EDR, vulnerability scanning, data protection, SIEM, and cybersecurity automation.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft/Linux OS, networking, identity and access management, and wireless security.
  • Knowledge of encryption methodologies, scripting, or software development.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with both business and IT teams.
