Position Summary:


As a member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a vital role in delivering top-tier security services and solutions to our 31 owner companies-small and medium-sized telecommunications providers across Wisconsin. We are seeking a well-rounded professional who can collaborate closely with business leaders to assess their cybersecurity needs and recommend IT solutions that strengthen their security posture.


In this role, you will be responsible for identifying risks within customers' infrastructure, proposing effective remediation strategies, and implementing creative security solutions. We need a highly motivated, self-driven individual who thrives on learning and is committed to providing exceptional customer service. A strong background in general IT and networking is essential.


Your focus will be on blue team defensive security solutions, including vulnerability and risk assessments, security monitoring, auditing, and incident response, while also assisting with System Administration tasks to support and enable future security initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recommend IT and cyber security solutions to reduce cyber risk
  • Implement security solutions such as SIEM, EDR, IPS/IDS, IAM, app whitelisting, endpoint security, or user awareness programs etc.
  • Create new service offerings that will bring improvement to security posture
  • Assist in security event/incident investigations on detected alerts
  • Provide guidance on prioritizing and reducing cyber risk
  • Systems and Network Administration
  • Help cultivate an information security aware and conscious culture
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients
  • Create and maintain documentation for all supported applications
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support customers and systems
  • Perform any additional job-related duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and provide our owner companies with industry leading customer service

Qualifications:


Technical Skills:

Experience in at least 3 of the below:

  • Information Security Administration
  • Networking or Firewall Administration
  • Server and Workstation Administration
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Risk Management
  • Security Strategy & Engineering
  • EDR / MDR Administration
  • IAM
  • User awareness training
  • Scripting, development, and automation

Business & Soft Skills:

  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Strong group presentation and public speaking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate technical security concepts into actionable business strategies
  • Experience assisting in service development by identifying customer needs and innovating security solutions

Education Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cyber Security and IT Certifications such as: GIAC, SANS, OSCP, CPTS, PNPT, CCSP, CEH, CISSP, CISM, etc.
  • 4+ years IT/Security Experience

Work Conditions/Equipment:

  • While regular travel is not anticipated, occasional local and regional travel may be necessary for job-related tasks
  • Travel 4-5 times a year to industry events for speaking engagements, training, or professional development
  • Yearly trip to headquarters for an annual employee meeting
  • Flexible work location within 300 miles of Eau Claire, Wisconsin
