The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the NSS is looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to play a crucial role in a forthcoming cyber security program. You will have the opportunity to support critical government systems by overseeing the development, integration, delivery, and maintenance of IT managed security services aimed at enhancing enterprise cybersecurity threat monitoring and security posture awareness. This position is contingent upon future contract award.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead configuration management processes to maintain the reliability, security, and compliance of essential government operations.
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to master complex systems and ensure successful operational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to maintain system integrity and compliance.
  • Handle change management for systems, applications, and infrastructure with thorough documentation and evaluation.
  • Guide configuration control boards (CCBs) to review and prioritize system updates effectively.
  • Establish and manage version control systems to properly track configuration changes and enable rollback capabilities when necessary.
  • Ensure documentation of configuration settings, baselines, and system components is always accurate and current.
  • Establish, track, and monitor baselines for system reliability and compliance.
  • Work in close coordination with engineering, development, and operations teams to incorporate configuration management processes into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ensure all systems adhere to organizational, industry, and regulatory standards for configuration management.
  • Provide essential data and reports to support internal and external audit activities.
  • Utilize and manage configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Git, or ServiceNow) effectively.
  • Drive automation projects to enhance the efficiency of configuration management processes.
  • Continuously monitor configuration data and system performance for inconsistencies or potential risks.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing configuration status, changes, and compliance metrics.
  • Proactively identify and resolve configuration-related issues to minimize disruption to system operations.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies concerning configuration changes.
  • Educate team members and stakeholders on best practices and tools in configuration management.
Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of prior experience. Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with mission-critical or government systems in regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with configuration management tools like ServiceNow or equivalent systems.
  • Knowledge of IT management frameworks such as ITIL or DevOps, along with relevant certifications.
  • Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP.

Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
