SMX is hiring a Cyber Security Analyst to support a secure cloud and DevSecOps environment for a federal customer focused on modernizing critical national personnel vetting systems. This role offers hands-on cybersecurity operations and compliance responsibilities, contributing directly to the delivery of secure and scalable software and infrastructure. This position is a hybrid role supporting a Herndon, VA based team. Essential Duties: Assist in maintaining compliance with RMF and other DoD cybersecurity frameworks. Support day-to-day vulnerability management and remediation tracking. Monitor cloud environments and tools for security compliance. Help prepare and update security documentation including POA&Ms and ATO artifacts. Participate in DevSecOps and CI/CD security integration activities. Provide basic incident response support and cyber hygiene practices. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity or IT security experience. BA/BS in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or similar. Active Secret clearance. Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, and basic cloud security principles. DoD 8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+). Desired Skills & Experience Exposure to AWS GovCloud or IL5 environments. Experience with ACAS, HBSS, or similar compliance tools. Interest in Zero Trust and modern DevSecOps concepts.
