The Information Technology Unit is hiring for a Cyber Security professional to join their team. This position works in collaboration with the Senior Security Analyst to assess and mitigate risk, respond to security incidents, and provide training to the Department of Law on cyber security best practices. The Information Technology Unit is dedicated to providing secure, user-friendly, and innovative information systems that support the department's mission. The Cybersecurity & Risk Management team is committed to protecting the department's digital infrastructure against evolving cyber threats by implementing proactive security measures to safeguard state resources.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Cybersecurity Analyst will play a strategic and hands-on role in securing the department's digital assets. This position is responsible for identifying and mitigating security risks, continuously monitoring security infrastructure, responding swiftly to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and procedures. This role requires the implementation and maintenance of advanced security tools, execution of complex vulnerability assessments, leadership in incident response, and development of cybersecurity strategies that align with industry best practices.
Duties include:
• Monitor the department's security infrastructure
• Perform advanced threat detection, vulnerability management, and proactive risk mitigation
• Lead complex incident response operations
• Ensure that the department adheres to cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support the security of cloud environments by monitoring configurations and implementing identity and access management solutions
• Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness programs and mandatory training designed to educate staff on security best practices and emerging threats Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Experience Only:
Two (2) years of professional information technology experience as the main function of your job. Information Technology experience includes working with computer systems, software, hardware, networks, or cyber security.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education or cyber security certification, and/or professional information technology experience as the main function of your job equal to two (2) years. A directly related certification may substitute for 6 months of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, the preferred applicant will also demonstrate and clearly describe the following skills and experience in their job application:
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve issues
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking
• Knowledge of cyber security principles and/ or experience working in cyber security
• Experience working with cloud security
• Experience working with infrastructure security
• Experience creating and delivering training
• Computer networking experience Conditions of Employment:
• Applicants must pass a thorough background investigation prior to appointment.
• Flexible work arrangement option with some in-person requirements. Initially, this position will need to be in person 2-3 days per week with the option for more remote work after a successful training period. Please note, flexible work arrangements may change at any time based on business needs.
