This role directly supports the Cybersecurity Lead and Program Manager in securing information systems across defense-related projects. The Cybersecurity Technician is responsible for implementing cybersecurity measures, supporting RMF accreditation, and maintaining security compliance across diverse environments and locations. This position plays a key role in ensuring systems are accredited, securely configured, and aligned with DoD cybersecurity policies and protocols. This job description is in consideration of a proposal contract, and is aligned for future business development. Location San Antonio, TX (AT&T Facility) Clearance Requirements Secret Essential Role and Responsibilities Cybersecurity Documentation & RMF Support : Assist in drafting and maintaining cybersecurity artifacts including Interim Authorization to Test (IATT), Authorization to Operate (ATO), and RMF packages. Security Configuration Management : Implement and validate secure configurations for all project hardware and software components to ensure compliance with security controls. Security Protocols Implementation : Apply security policies, procedures, and countermeasures to defend systems against cyber threats and ensure secure operations. System Accreditation : Support the development of system documentation, configuration settings, and self-assessments necessary for favorable RMF accreditation outcomes. Compliance Maintenance : Ensure that updates, patches, and software changes do not compromise approved security configurations. Prototyping & Testing Support : Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, test, and deliver secure system prototypes. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineers, program managers, and cybersecurity leadership to document and execute security-related activities across systems and subsystems. Security Engineering Practices : Research and contribute to trusted computing architectures and best practices in cybersecurity engineering. Qualifications Education Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Experience 4 to 6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance roles. Proficient in DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), system hardening, and compliance standards. Experience with ATO/IATT processes and producing cybersecurity documentation for system accreditation. Certifications Required : DoD 8570 IAM Level II (e.g., CAP, CASP+, CISM, CISSP (Associate), GSLC, or CCISO). Preferred: Advanced certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CAP).
