Cyber Operations Subject Matter Expert with Security Clearance

Cyber Operations - Subject Matter Expert - Level 4 JOB DESCRIPTION X8 is seeking an experienced Cyber / Space Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) IV to join our team. This critical role will focus on evaluating offensive cyber operations (OCO) processes, policies, and tools against operational plans and lines of effort (LOE). As a Cyber / Space Ops SME, you will have an in-depth background in both cyber operations and space capabilities. Your role will involve collaborating with operational planning teams, interfacing with tactical planners, and supporting units to solve complex target problems while ensuring alignment with USCYBERCOM's Joint Cyber Warfighter Architecture (JCWA). This position is located in Columbia, MD. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Evaluate and assess offensive cyber operations (OCO) processes, policies, and tools in alignment with operational plans and lines of effort (LOEs).
• Participate in operational planning teams (OPTs), collaborating with planners in the JFHQs and interfacing with tactical planners to ensure mission goals are clearly understood and achievable.
• Support partner units in solving hard target problems, prioritizing solutions compliant with USCYBERCOM's Joint Cyber Warfighter Architecture (JCWA) and maximizing the use of existing and planned Joint Cyber Weapons (JCW) Common Services T-10 capabilities.
• Conduct gap analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in operational processes, tools, and capabilities.
• Collaborate with the X8 team to help develop prototypes, TTPs, or process capabilities that prove the viability of concepts aimed at closing planning gaps.
• Ready tools for implementation in partnership with government or contract engineers, supporting the integration of operational systems or testing in operational test ranges.
• Develop and implement best practices for the successful deployment of new capabilities within operations and train users to ensure they are effectively integrated with other parts of the JCWA.
• Support training efforts, helping current users understand and use new tools and processes in concert with the broader JCWA framework. WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU'LL BRING
• Deep expertise in cyber operations and space capabilities, with a background in operational and tactical planning.
• Proven experience working with USCYBERCOM's Joint Cyber Warfighter Architecture (JCWA) and Joint Cyber Weapons (JCW) Common Services T-10.
• Ability to engage with operational planning teams (OPTs) and tactical planners, providing subject matter expertise in developing solutions for complex target problems.
• Strong gap analysis skills, with experience in developing and prototyping TTPs or capabilities that address operational planning gaps.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to develop tools and systems for implementation in operational environments or test ranges.
• Experience in developing best practices and training materials to support the integration and use of new cyber and space operational capabilities.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
WHAT PREFERRED SKILLS YOU'LL BRING
• Familiarity with space operations and how they integrate with cyber operations in the context of national defense.
• Experience working directly with USCYBERCOM and understanding its operational processes and mission.
• Expertise in developing TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) for offensive cyber and space operations.
• Background in tool implementation and integration in partnership with engineers, with a focus on the operational readiness of new capabilities. MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED
• Active TS/SCI CI Poly COMPENSATION
• Salary Range: $300,000 + (depending on experience and education)
• Time Off: 24 Days PTO and 13 Federal holidays
