This position is for a Cyber Foundations Teacher and Assistant Football Coach for the 2025-26 school year.

POSITION SUMMARY

To create a flexible grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Provide leadership, supervision, and organization for the sports program. Ensure players develop skills on and off the playing field and court that lead to success beyond athletics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Mississippi teaching certificate in appropriate endorsement area.
  • Knowledge of sport he/she is coaching.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Have a valid CDL.
  • Other qualifications as deemed appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Have a mastery level of the curriculum outcomes and be able to articulate these to students, parents, and patrons.
  • Utilize accepted principles of learning and human growth in motivating students and in directing learning activities.
  • Provide for appropriate student participation in developing and achieving classroom mastery level concepts.
  • Provide continuous monitoring and recording of student mastery level concepts commensurate with curriculum.
  • Continually plan learning activities that recognize the different needs, abilities, and skills necessary for effective participation in our diverse society.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Utilize student support services to achieve student success to the maximum of their abilities.
  • Communicate with students about their needs and progress.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of improved curriculum to achieve the outcomes of the school district.
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.
  • Ability to disaggregate test data and determine areas to provide instruction for each student.
  • Participate in the planning and supervision of student activities.
  • Demonstrate effective use and proper care of materials and supplies.
  • Be a building team member that will share matters relating to the improvement of the educational program with the principal.
  • Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Continually develop a cooperative, energetic, flexible, and creative working relationship with students, colleagues, and administration.
  • Communicate with parents in a professional manner to discuss students' progress.
  • Implement and carry out all applicable policies, rules and regulations, and decisions of the Board of Education and the administration.
  • Prepare and maintain such records and reports as required by law and by the Board of Education and the administration.
  • Demonstrate proper sportsmanship and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans, and other coaches.
  • Teach athletes fundamental skills, theory, and strategy of the sport.
  • Teach athletes the value of good conduct and sportsmanship.
  • Teach safe procedures.
  • Provide input and suggestions in planning practice schedules and game plans weekly.
  • Maintain rapport with the coaching staff and players.
  • Provide supervision.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned areas including but not limited to:
  1. Equipment and laundry
  2. Weight room and training room
  3. Transportation
  4. Video study
