Job Summary: The Customer Service Team Member plays a vital role in supporting store management by performing various tasks, including providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, operating the cash register, maintaining cleanliness, and more. This position is all about delivering outstanding customer experiences and supporting Wawa's mission to enhance lives every day.
Principal Duties:
- Greet each customer warmly and create an enjoyable shopping experience. Address customer needs and resolve any concerns promptly and politely.
- Communicate effectively with management to relay customer requests or issues.
- Handle cash register operations, including scanning items, bagging merchandise, processing payments, and ensuring proper cash handling.
- Adhere to legal guidelines by verifying identification for age-restricted product purchases.
- Restock product displays and ensure all areas are well-supplied and organized.
- Facilitate customer fuel transactions and supervise activities at the fuel area.
- Prepare fresh food and beverages according to customer specifications and Wawa standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in food and beverage areas, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular checks on inventory and expiration dates, removing any expired items as necessary.
- Follow established safety and store operation protocols to ensure a secure shopping environment.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain an orderly and clean store.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by store management.
Essential Functions: - Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative work settings.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Eager to learn and apply food safety and quality assurance procedures consistently.
- Available to work overtime when required.
- Adept at multitasking in a busy environment.
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs and performing physical activities such as standing, walking, and bending.
- Minimum age requirement: 16 years old.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Slip-resistant shoes must be worn at all times.
- Ability to work safely with cleaning products and high-temperature equipment.
Basic Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in food service or customer service is a plus.
