The role you'll contribute:

The Customer Service Team Leader provides direction and support to the Customer Service area in conjunction with the Patient Accounts Manager. Acts as a liaison to various departments within the hospital as well as carriers and agencies outside the hospital. The Customer Service Team Leader will foster a patient-focused environment in the Customer Service area; maintaining acceptable standards of service and providing assistance in creating a vision for the area which reflects the vision and values of Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

The value you'll bring to the team:

Take a leading role in Self Pay Management including but not limited to BAI, FPP, bad debt, applying adjustments, etc.

Handle incoming calls about patient balances, collecting payments, and assisting patients as needed with their accounts.

Work closely with the self-pay and collections vendor on account resolution.

Process FA/Charity applications per hospital policy in a timely manner.

Maintain a patient appropriate attitude at all times.

Provide guidance and training to assigned staff on current and updated processes, policies, procedures within the customer service area.
