This role plays a crucial part in the success of our retail operations. Customer Service Specialists engage closely with both wholesale and retail customers to identify their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and suggest the best solutions. You will be responsible for resolving any customer concerns promptly to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction. Staying updated with product features and maintaining the high visual and quality standards of the products and store are also key duties.

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be required to perform various tasks that may involve direct interaction with minors, handling cash and payment methods, and accessing valuable merchandise and information. This access may be supervised or unsupervised, which is why a review of criminal history is necessary to protect our business, staff, customers, and the broader community.

Selected individuals will work at locations within a 25-mile radius of our store at 457 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Compensation for this role is based on various factors such as skills, experience, and business needs. The wage range provided is subject to adjustment based on relevant factors.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
  • Build productive trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and consistently with policies and procedures.
  • Follow and achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Maintain precise work order files and formulas.
  • Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
  • Tint and mix products as needed to customer specifications.
  • Stock shelves and set up displays.
  • Clean store equipment.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks.
  • Assist in making deliveries, as needed.
  • Maintain an in-stock and presentable condition in assigned areas.
  • Remain knowledgeable about products offered and discuss available options.
  • Comply with inventory control procedures.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
  • Previous experience selling paint and related products.
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
