The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Customer Service Specialist. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Policy Services and will be headquartered in IASB's Springfield office.
Position Summary: The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for initiating and performing functions required for the efficient operation of an office and supporting the Policy Services Department in providing existing and new policy services to IASB members. The position will also serve as the backup for the front desk receptionist in IASB's Springfield office.
Primary functions of the position will include handling all phone calls, emails, and other communications in an efficient and courteous manner; sending and collecting data from surveys of subscribers; creating and maintaining current, organized, and accurate written procedures; maintaining accurate shared calendars; providing phone and online training to subscribers of policy services subscriptions; attending the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago; and performing other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements: The Customer Service Specialist position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two to three years of customer service work experience, and high-level experience with Microsoft Word and web-based HTML word processing applications Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS); MOS Expert or MOS Master preferred.
This position requires the employee to be able to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position.
The position offers an annual salary of $35,000 - $43,000, with a generous benefits package that includes holidays, vacation and sick time, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement benefits. Position will be eligible for Hybrid work after 90 days of employment.
