Where You Will Work:

This position will primarily work out of the American Job Center located in Panama City, Florida. Panama City is centrally located in Northwest Florida between Pensacola and Tallahassee on Florida's Gulf of Mexico coast. The Panama City/Bay County area consistently ranks above the national average for quality of life. The area is well known for its beautiful beaches that feature 27 miles of white, sandy coastline along with countless recreational activities, an active arts community, and southern hospitality culture.

Pay:

$35,000.00 - $36,050.04

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Performs responsible, professional and administrative work in a worforce center setting. Providing services to job seekers and or employers .
  • Triage and assess customer needs, and direct customer to appropriate service
  • Serve as the initial point of contact and provides instructions, labor market information, and assistance to customers utilizing the services of the CareerSource Job Center
  • Register job seekers to ensure full, current, and complete registrations
  • Screens and refers job seekers to appropriate job openings, workforce/training programs, workshops, and community resources
  • Ensure referrals pending review and other customer requests via the customer service email are completed in a timely manner
  • Assist with general computer and Reemployment Assistance (RA) application questions and if needed, resets RA PIN
  • Assist with job fairs, recruiting events, workshops, and other Job Center events as needed
  • Document and record services/activities accurately and timely
  • Performs other related duties as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge/experience using Microsoft Office applications, incl. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective customer service
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of counseling and case management
  • Skilled in group presentations or workshop instruction and/or facilitation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to promote and market the Career Center
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to conduct effective interviews
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to prepare reports to include recording, evaluating, and analyzing data
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing and coordinating work assignments
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state and national law enforcement records.

Other Requirements that may be required for the position:
  • The incumbent must possess or obtain certification as a Workforce Professional Tier 1 within one year of employment in the position.
