Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with completing billing for DME items in a timely manner and according to insurance guidelines
  • Remain current with insurance payers, health plans, and prior authorization processes
  • Assist with receiving inventory and unpacking, assembling, and stocking inventory in the DME storefront
  • Provide coverage to the DME storefront as needed - wait on customers, answering the phone, checking messages, and other necessary tasks that arise
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times
  • Complete necessary paperwork to ensure Medicare and insurance guidelines are met
  • Follow proper procedure for taking payments for items sold from the DME storefront and payments on accounts
Required Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years customer service and knowledge of medical terminology, DME experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Repetitive use of hands (e.g. computer keyboard usage), sitting for long periods of time up to 6 hours per day.
Location and Travel Requirements:
  • Hybrid
  • Onsite location: Cayuga Medical Equipment, 40 Catherwood Rd, Ithaca
  • 8:30 - 4:30, M-F
Compensation Disclosure:
  • $15.50 to $23.00 per hour
