Join our team as a Customer Service Specialist, a pivotal role that drives the success of our retail operations. In this position, you will engage with both wholesale and retail customers to identify their needs, answer questions about our quality Sherwin-Williams products, and suggest the best solutions. Your efforts will be key in resolving customer concerns and achieving maximum satisfaction.

You will also maintain a high level of product knowledge to ensure you remain up-to-date with features, fostering a visually appealing atmosphere in the store. Your goal will be to provide excellent customer service while helping to meet and exceed the store's sales targets.

The position is located at: 1360 E Main St, Carbondale IL 62901.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay rate of $17.25 per hour.

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone, assessing needs and presenting suitable products.
  • Build trusting relationships with wholesale and retail clientele.
  • Process sales transactions in alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Strive to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Maintain accurate work order files and product specifications.
  • Retrieve and prepare products for customers from the sales floor or warehouse.
  • Tint and mix products as necessary to fulfill customer specifications.
  • Restock shelves and enhance product displays.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of store equipment.
  • Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks and making deliveries when needed.
  • Keep assigned areas well-stocked and visually appealing.
  • Stay informed about product offerings and available options to advise customers effectively.
  • Adhere to inventory control procedures and recommend sales improvement strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the country without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must be able to retrieve materials and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
  • Experience selling paint and related products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tinting and mixing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages, particularly Spanish, is beneficial.
