Position: Customer Service / Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Shelby Township, MI


Description:

The Customer Service / Shipping & Receiving Clerk will hold a pivotal role in maintaining smooth and organized product flows to and from our facility. This position encompasses providing exceptional customer service, processing orders, and overseeing shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for automotive industry clients, addressing inquiries, orders, and concerns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering excellent service and timely responses.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare, package, and label products for outbound shipments, adhering to customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to schedule and track deliveries, ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Maintain precise shipping and receiving records, including diligent inventory tracking.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, meticulously verifying accuracy and quality.
  • Assist in the upkeep and organization of the shipping and receiving area, prioritizing cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Diligently handle customer orders from inception to completion, encompassing order entry, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Skillfully generate shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels, adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensure that all shipments conform to customer-specific instructions and delivery prerequisites.
  • Monitor and manage customer-specific requirements and compliance, staying attentive to their evolving needs.
  • Promptly and professionally address customer inquiries, complaints, and issues, pursuing effective resolutions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve matters efficiently, always with a focus on ensuring customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or a related field is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, shipping, and receiving roles, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong organizational aptitude and a talent for multitasking.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using shipping and inventory management software ERP/MRP (Epicor & AutoCOR) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes and automotive industry standards is a valued asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
