Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and computer-proficient individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) / Underwriter. This dual-role position will involve both underwriting responsibilities and direct client interaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to handle challenging situations, and a valid Property and Casualty license in Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwriting:
    • Evaluate insurance applications and determine coverage eligibility.
    • Assess risk factors and analyze client information to make informed underwriting decisions.
    • Prepare and present insurance quotes and policy documents.
    • Maintain and update underwriting files and documentation.
  • Customer Service:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
    • Navigate challenging client interactions with professionalism and tact.
    • Provide clear and accurate information regarding policy terms, coverage options, and claims processes.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Administrative:
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to underwriting and client interactions.
    • Utilize computer systems and software to process applications, track policies, and manage client information.
    • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Property and Casualty insurance license in Michigan.
  • Proven experience in insurance underwriting, preferably within E&O insurance, but not required
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and insurance software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
