Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative at our Taylorsville, NC manufacturing plant.
Job Summary: Process customer orders, including scheduling, shipping and billing.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Handle phone calls, fax, or email communication from customers and internal staff
• Communicate customer requests and details to management and sale; Enter orders for bedding, blocks, furniture manufacturing, fiber and filtration into SAP
• Calculate and provide information on COD shipments
• Monitor credit release orders and notify Corporate credit when necessary
• Enter customer complaints on network spreadsheet and complete ENPR for return goods
• Manage and issue credits for discrepancies, shortages, returns, damages, etc.; Key truck schedule for daily shipments and confirm deliveries with customers
• Assist in answering telephones for other department CSR's
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Basic math and computer skills, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, and accounting knowledge
• Ability to cope tactfully with peculiar situations and difficult people
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, production personnel, management, and the sales team
Education and Experience:
HS Diploma or GED; 1 year customer service experience.
