US Farathane is hiring for a
Customer Service Representative, this role will sit at our Orion facility at Lapeer and Brown Rd
Summary: Provide the main line of communication with the all tier customer and supports the materials department by assuring customer requirements are shipped as ordered, on time. Maintains MRP system and updates releases accordingly. Assist the Materials Department in verifying correct packaging is availible for proper shipments and production requirements. Communicates with all customers on any potential container delivery issues or damages. Assist with all expandable packaging customer charges with proper documentation.
Essential Functions: - Assure production requirements are shipped to the customer as released to ensure 100% on time delivery requirements
- Notify customers of late, missed or short shipments.
- Update database to reflect current packaging requirements and maintain container tracking logs
- Assist, as appropriate, in maintaining inventory accuracy (including plant supplies if applicable).
- Assist, as appropriate, in problem solving activities
- Prepare daily pick sheets for shipping and then print and distribute shippers when picks are complete.
- Process billing for all customers.
- Monitor and maintain customer portals/web sites to assure customer and USF requirements are met.
- Assist in all physical inventories taken in the plant.
- Ensure that all receiving data is 100% accurate and updated in Palette.
- Assist in tracking returnable containers.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie, Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc)
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
- Support plant activities toward achieving customer awards and Quality registration (ie, TS16949, etc.)
- Monitors and manage Ford, Chrysler and GM containers system (Smart & DDL System)
- Monitors and manage all tier account containers systems
- Tracks all short shipments of containers and reports any issues to production control
- Coordinate with cross function team to ensure packaging is available for production runs and shipments.
- Process packaging damage claims as needed and submits details needed for reimbursements
- Manages all expandable customer charge back
- Manage inventory in Parts+ for all containers and works on maintaining 100% accuracy and cycle counts all containers as needed
- Respond to all written and verbal communication, internal and external, in a timely fashion
- Maintains a working map of containers storage and updates as needed
- Works with Materials departments on maintaining proper housekeeping of container storage, inside and outside the building.
- Assist with data entry of all tier account releases and shipments
- Communicates with all customers any potential short shipments or discrepancies
- Assist in cross functional team on corrective action and problem solving
- Audits and maintains the BOM's for proper packaging
- Audits and maintains all expandable shipments for customer reimbursement
- Assist is Annual year end physical inventory
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent or higher
- Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of EDI systems and related current customer requirements. Computer literate.
- Thorough understanding of customer releases.
- Knowledge of MRP system
- Professional written and verbal skills
- Must be able to represent USF in a professional manner
- Able to speak to groups and work on a cross functional team
- Excellent time management skills and self-directed with minimal supervision
- Excellent math and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiar with OEM/Tier account website (will train as needed)
- Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions
- High energy level and position with a "Can Do" attitude is a must
