Job Title: Customer Care Representative

Location: El Centro, CA (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

On-call Requirement: Must be available 24/7 to answer calls and coordinate with ports, including weekends if needed

Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Position Summary:

The Customer Care Representative is responsible for accurate order entry and proactive communication with both internal departments and external customers. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring logistics operations run smoothly by managing documentation, coordinating schedules, and resolving service-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers; handle order intake, scheduling, logistics planning, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication, representing the company with integrity.
  • Interface with customer ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to process and monitor orders.
  • Coordinate shipments and requirements with internal teams (Transportation, Transloading, Depot, etc.).
  • Prepare and distribute all documentation necessary for operational departments.
  • Track shipments using GPS software; ensure timely follow-up and status updates.
  • Generate material handling invoices; ensure accuracy and maintain customer inventory records.
  • Provide Proof of Delivery (POD) and other supporting documentation as requested.
  • Oversee the transportation documentation process, including rating, data entry, and billing.
  • Provide monthly inventory reports per customer specifications.
  • Assist in general administrative tasks and serve as a backup for terminal supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and internal teams.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in an active office environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and be on-call as business needs dictate.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods and use a computer continuously.
