Leidos is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative for Rental Housing at our FHA Resource Center in Albuquerque, NM.

Join our dedicated Leidos Customer Service team that supports the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Single-Family Housing, in their mission to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and provide quality affordable homes for all.

As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in assisting renters, tenants, and property managers by providing essential resources and referrals to meet their rental needs. Your responsibilities may also extend to helping homebuyers and homeowners with inquiries related to purchasing and owning a home. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge of HUD rental assistance programs and FHA Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage programs through continuous training while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle phone calls concerning multifamily rental assistance requests, including tenant complaints, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage backup calls related to home buying and loan servicing from the public.
  • Provide accurate information and resources to customers to ensure superior customer service.
  • Utilize knowledge base and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to address customer requests efficiently.
  • Document customer interactions in an internal database.
To thrive as a Customer Service Representative, you will need:
  • A strong ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications effectively, utilizing search tools to provide relevant information.
  • Exceptional time management skills and a commitment to dependability.
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
  • Keyboarding proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.
Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • A minimum of two years of property management experience plus one year of contact center or telephone customer service experience.
  • The ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security clearance, which includes a credit check and background investigation.
  • Availability for part-time work (25 - 29 hours per week) from 9:35 am - 6:05 pm MT in Albuquerque, NM (subject to change based on customer needs).
  • English language proficiency; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus for both verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HUD-subsidized multifamily apartments or public housing.
  • Experience in a call center with omnichannel support.

The pay for this position is $18-$20 per hour.

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage demands as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefits. Leidos ensures that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits.
