Under the direction of the Manager of Customer Service and Cash Applications, provides outstanding customer service to patients of Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research accounts and answer patient questions.
  • Verify insurance as needed.
  • Receive payments from patients, Registration staff, and others as required.
  • Work self-pay reports as assigned.
  • Offer discount payments to uninsured patients.
  • Research and respond to patient correspondence.
  • Review and refer patient accounts for bad debt referral.
  • Follow up with our outside Billing Vendors regarding patient questions or issues.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

  2. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures,
values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service/billing experience in a healthcare environment required
  • PC knowledge
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent skills in de-escalating difficult patient calls
Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other:
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Previous customer service/billing experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • Certification/Licensure: N/A
  • Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office and IDX preferred
