Job Description Join us at the forefont at Ingalls Memorial as a
Customer Service Receptionist in Harvey. The
Customer Service Receptionist receives all visitors to the hospital, administers appropriate passes to visitors, information assistance to telephone callers, continuously updates patient information and patient visitor pass files, and performs related duties as assigned. Works in partnership with patient care units, pro-actively assists physicians, identifies and provides individual patient and family needs.
Essential Job Functions - Maintains visitor pass files according to department procedure.
- Receives all general incoming telephone calls and answers all inquiries etc. Greets patients, families, and significant others promptly and in a courteous manner. Receives visitors in assigned area and offers assistance with wheelchairs or other assistance to maintain a reasonable level of comfort.
- Complete HealthStream Education tests before due date. Maintains strict confidentiality with regard to patient and departmental information without exception.etc
- Provides clear, concise directions to visitors and hospital personnel.Demonstrates a working knowledge of patient room locations and department procedures. etc
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts with a positive outcome when dealing with co-workers, patients, or other departments. etc
- Follows written goals and objectives for review annually as established and agreed upon in previous evaluation.
- Demonstrates the ability to respond to visitor inquiries accurately.
- Recognize a potentially negative situation before it becomes a problem and intervene immediately
- Use service recovery to correct an issue, create a "WOW" experience and re-capture our patient's loyalty.
Required Qualifications - High School graduate.
- Three years minimum experience in healthcare setting preferred
- Demonstrate basic office skills.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Effective written and verbal communication skills/previous experience creating newsletters
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to perform office work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Publisher)
- Extremely professional
- Outstanding customer service skills
