The Stores:
Gruene Outfitters and The Pomegranate are locally owned small businesses situated within the vibrant and historic area of Gruene in New Braunfels, TX. Conveniently located between Austin and San Antonio we serve a diverse customer base including locals, vacationers, and international travelers. Both stores offer high-end outdoor and lifestyle clothing, accessories, and gift items such as fly fishing gear, name brand shoes and clothing, sunglasses, leather goods, knives, and jewelry.

Work Schedule and Hours:
We prioritize working on weekends and holidays for our business, with exceptions for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Employees who prioritize availability during peak times are considered for promotions and raises.
A typical full time schedule:
- 32-40 hours per week
- Usually 8 hour shifts with one 30 minute paid break
- Even distribution of weekend and holiday work
Training and Onboarding Process:
New employees' first shift starts a 90 day probationary period which culminates in a formal review to determine if they are still the right candidate for the position. Before their first shift, employees are given an employee policy packet to review and sign. After that, most training is done on the job, but more training outside of shift hours may be required, especially during the probationary period.

Job Duties That You Would Assume With Interest and Enthusiasm:
Customer Service
- Analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions that promote customer loyalty and company growth
- Stay up to date with customer special order status from order placement to customer pickup
- Promptly inform customers about the status of their "call when" requests as the status changes
- Answer general inquiries with confidence and sincerity
- Actively seek casual engagement with customers while they are in the store
- Assist customers in navigating the store, finding products that they are looking for (or something they didn't know they wanted), and make informed recommendations based on the customer's needs and preferences
- Build lasting customer connections by remembering details like upcoming events, preferences, and past purchases to offer personalized service and enhance their shopping experience
- Provide knowledgeable and attentive assistance, ensuring that every customer leaves satisfied and valued
Product knowledge
- Be a resource of accurate and helpful product and brand information
- Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively communicating product benefits
- Learn, improve, and retain brand and product knowledge for a high volume of inventory
- Continue to learn and improve product knowledge to better serve customers and promote the products sold in the store
Store Maintenance
- Assist the team in keeping a high volume and high sales store completely stocked, tidied, and in perfect order. It is imperative that this is done once in the morning, constantly throughout the day, and also in the evening. We believe in "from the ground up" customer service, and that includes customers finding what they want without needing assistance
- Maintain a clean environment. The store and products require intentional daily upkeep to remain presentable and desirable for customers
- Be highly visual and have strong product placement and arrangement skills
Other
- Make outbound calls and emails to communicate with customers, sales reps, and coworkers
- Lead by example and work to the best of your ability every day

Your Qualifications:
In order to be capable of performing these job duties to the level we require, we believe you should have the following qualifications (or similar).
- Previous experience working a retail or customer service job for three or more years
- Minimum 18 months of consecutive employment with one company
- Capability of quickly learning new computer software and retaining the knowledge needed to effectively use it
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment where multiple job duties must be performed at the same time
- Have experience improving systems and processes that lead to upgrading overall business performance
- Fine tuned attention to detail encompassing both tangible and intangible aspects
- Possess flexibility, ability, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
