Join our team as a Store Associate where you will play a vital role in creating a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include merchandising, stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to keep our store in top shape. Work collaboratively with the ALDI team to provide exceptional customer service.
Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $17.50, Year 3 - $18.00, Year 4 - $18.00, Year 5 - $19.00
Duties and Responsibilities: - Delivering outstanding customer service while assisting shoppers
- Efficiently processing customer purchases and maintaining cleanliness
- Stocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays neatly
- Working closely with team members and clearly communicating with management
- Providing input to management about products, inventory discrepancies, and general store issues
- Assisting in store inventory counts and ensuring inventory accuracy
- Following cash handling procedures to minimize errors and losses
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, ensuring document confidentiality
- Completing other tasks as assigned
Physical Demands: - Ability to stock and shelve products, including items weighing up to 45 pounds
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking
- Ability to perform responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications: - Must be 18 years or older
- Strong ability to provide efficient and friendly customer service
- Proficiency in operating a cash register accurately
- Ability to use equipment such as hand jacks and floor scrubbers
- Skilled in maintaining a clean work environment
- Ability to understand and apply company policies and guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Must meet any local regulations regarding the handling and sale of alcoholic beverages
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in retail is a plus
- A combination of education and experience providing relevant knowledge
